Has anyone ever seen this mark? It's on my 1943 91/30.

Interesting, new one for me.

This thing has stamps all over it.... much more than my '32 hex.

That's the Naval version of the 9130. Two boats with broken main sails. You should know that...

Are they poorly shaped Euro symbols?

Refurbs are plastered with a million stamps and punched metal marks that mean nothing to us and probably never will mean anything to us. Bill

Yes, at least a dozen times on the refurbs, nobody has found out what it means, typical of most of the small markings found on the Mosins, unknown.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

These marks are about 3/8" tall. The stock also has plenty of small stampings all over it.

Yes, I know, the identical mark is on numerous refurb stocks in my collection, sometimes only once, other times twice, we don't know what they mean. The tiny stamps are put there by people inspecting the parts or the entire rifle, each one indicates it passed some sort of test.ahamay79 wrote:These marks are about 3/8" tall. Thanks for the responses. Yep, this baby is a total parts bin refurb. Tula and Izhevsk parts all mixed thru it. But it did pass the No-Go headspace test.
