The search is finally over...........

Post by Noble Sniper »

Well, I have always been a fan of Elmer Keith. If you dont know who he is you should do some reading on him............ he is the driving force behind alot of guns we have today as well as their cartriges. Back in the day Elmer had a colt bisley flattop revolver built to his specifications....... actually a series of them until they came up with the number five revolver. Chambered in 44 special with a 5 1/2" barrel. Many years ago I first saw that revovler and instantly fell in love with it and have wanted one like it ever since. Matter of fact its the wallpaper on my laptop :chuckles: I have had many single action revolvers over the years and even ccw a Colt SAA in 45LC for a time. Well, I finally found what will be my new project and carry piece. A Ruger blackhawk bisley flattop in 44 special with a 5 1?2" barrel. I will take some ques from Elmers number 5 and build my own. Eventually I plan to have 75% engraving done as well as true ivory grips......... my new toy should be here next week hoepfully and I cannot wait....... just ahd to share. Here is a stock ruger pic. They build it on the 357 medium frame which is the same size as the original Colt SAA and use the bisley grip which is reminiscent of Elmers as well. :D :D

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Very Nice indeed. The only thing I don't like about Rugers is the "warning" paragraph they engrave on the barrel.

Thank you :) Actually Ruger is putting that warning out of sight underneath the barrel tucked up by the ejector assembly............. much better aesthetically ;)
