Thanks , Jim, for adding that.
To my opinion that rifle could be compared to a US Garand reworked here by WINREM and offered as a historic based "Hunting Rifle"! It would still be a "Garand based" rifle, but no object for Garand collectors. If they not choose to add a new Collectors item, it remains a historic based hunting rifle....
The thought alone makes me not want to see my lunch again over it.....
It would probably be a good hunting rifle, just weird to use it, in my eyes....
I finally got one but is it real or fake?

Winchester could possibly do it with the Garand if they still have the tooling from the WW2 government contract. Winchester made a great Garand. Remington filled many military contracts around the world over the years with Rolling blocks, Enfields, and Mosins to name some. With all of them they were known to use leftover parts to produce short runs of "hunting " rifles for the public.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Desert, you seem to have a active imagination, where do you get so many facts about the thoughts and intents of WWII Russians?
