With grateful thanks to websterz, I have my first Nagant! I did the paperwork at my FFL tonight, unfortunately it went to further review, as it always does 'cos I'm a foreigner, so I probably won't actually get it until Saturday since checks are taking so long right now.
The revolver is beautiful, in excellent condition and functioning perfectly! I did get to play with it and can't wait until I can pick it up!
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

I finally got around to picking one up today. The display model was a 1943 Tula, but the one I got is an Izhevsk. It looks pretty nice though . I haven't cleaned it up yet, but as soon as I do I will post some pics on another thread
