BIN 128.75

Post by Miller Tyme »

Well 2014 is 2 weeks old and I have my 1st entry into my bound book. I found this one on line New Years Eve for the BIN price of $128.75, so after requesting a pic of the barrel markings I figured I couldn’t much go wrong with another 36 Tula hex receiver with possible SCW heritage. The rifle is your typical non-refurbed mix master like so many SCW rifles, with a Tula stock, and Spanish style cleaning rod. The bore looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since 1938, but after some cleaning it is still dark, but I can now see some rifling, and after a few rounds down range I think it will clean up.

This is another nice one. That is the kind of price I like to see.

Hey, nice one at a great price.  BIN @ GB? I don't believe I saw that one. Probably cause you gobbled it up before anyone saw it. Been there done that. Looks SCW to me. I was pretty lucky tonight too in picking up what I think is a Balkan '44 9130 relatively cheap. We can both celebrate. I think there are a lot of guys out there who want the shiny NM refurbs and just pass these rifles up. Oh well...

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

You are a lucky man. I was working on New Years Eve at the FD. I saw that listing and was just about to hit the button when I got a call. By the time I got back it was gone.. Oh well , glad it was someone that will appreciate it.. Congrats.

Nice find MT, it was just out of Brad's price range by $5.30, the seller must have known about him.
