Re: Letters Of Authenticity Question
I've been asked before if my Mosin Nagants were reproductions. I even had one guy tell me the r on 1944r stood for reproduction. Pretty funny, a reproduction Model 44 would be a real stretch to make, the cost to produce one today to those specs would be really high not to mention making it lo...

Re: Letters Of Authenticity Question
Maybe this is why... places like IMA-USA offer a certificate of authenticity on almost everything (For a fee). Here’s a POST war enfield sling for $14.99 that you can get a COA with: https://www.ima-usa.com/collections/british-field-gear/products/original-post-wwii-dated-british-enfield-web-khaki-s...

Letters Of Authenticity Question
Before all this shelter at home stuff hit I did a Saturday's Merchants Square swap meet in Mesa with a friend who keeps a case there. I had a lifetime of stuff with me, ammo pouches from Mosins and Yugo's, grips, Japanese IJA stuff from Japan I got on e-bay all sorts of things from a lifetime of co...

All of those are beautiful, because I have lost most my hearing learning to play a guitar is one thing removed from the "bucket list" probably, those are all really, really cool. :vcool: (Now that I can ask Alexa to play almost anything, that is if she understands, there is nothing I can ...

Re: Garand birthday
Turned the big 60 earlier this week and it seemed to happen so fast... Ran across this rifle a couple weeks ago and decided this is exactly what I want for my birthday. Of course no one else in my family knows anything and it's my little secret. Springfield serial dated 1944 and to my surprise when...

Re: Mosin Classified Add Price
I would say the buyer got a deal and the seller got what he wanted out of it. Appreciate everyone's opinions, people around the U.S. are paying a lot of money for these rifles now. I'm seeing that $300.00 is about the going rate for a Model 44 here in Arizona, about $349.00 in the pawn shops around...

Re: Tokarev
Haven't got to shoot it yet but for $150 it was priced right. Haven't decided how I feel about the frame safety that had to be added on to import it yet but at least it's not on the slide. https://i.imgur.com/L6DzVET.jpg Yes you did good. Chinese versions, chambered for 9mm parabellum, the ones tha...

Re: Mosin M44 in the movies
Wow, this is cool. I've seen Mosin Nagants in movies, but never really paid attention to them. Might need to check this movie out, as there is NOTHING on TV but re-runs. Not a 44 but a Mosin in a movie, tragic outcome though. Scene is from Flight of the Intruder, really good movie. https://www.yout...

Re: Test for Authenticity
I did go through the points on the knowledge base and my rifle seems to meet all of the requirements. Are there any other examination points I should consider? Also, Is it worth getting it professionally evaluated and certified? Thanks, Tom Vett the professional, a lot of people just don't know wha...

Mosin Classified Add Price
I saw this in a local forum recently, the rifle that is the subject of this add sold pretty quick. Is $300.00 the typical going rate for a decent model 44 Mosin today, was this a good deal, fair deal, average deal? Any thoughts on Mosin 44 rifles selling for $300.00 in 2020 Capture 1944 mosin add.J...

Re: 8 MM Mauser ammo questions
Yugo surplus and perhaps the best out there. My K98ks don't like the Romanian or the PPU commercial but they love this. I have some stashed from 1950 that's the best I've ever shot but smells like rotten eggs. Some of that Turkish stuff is real hot, I'm leary of it. My lacquer coated yugo 8mm was g...

Re: Mosin M44 in the movies
Interesting thing most of the Hungarian resistance were using German discards. All the stashed German equipment from the war made the armed Hungarian uprising possible. My mom told me about her brother talking with Hungarians on HAM radio and hearing their pleas for western intervention. During the...

Re: 8 MM Mauser ammo questions
I have seen the same head stamp on the 1992 ammunition on 7.62x54R, but I don't know where it's from. Someplace they use those weird letters. :D BTW I think you made a good deal on what you got. Yugoslavia is where that is from I believe. Turk ammo, those were the days, 1400 round crate were $79.99...

Re: Flags.......
You might be surprised at how often I find these flags at flea markets. Sometimes folded, other times draped over something, a few even in shadowbox's. Write the name of the person the flags honor on a card and slip it into the fold. None of us live forever, and one day any of these flags could end...
