Re: Unknow 1916 hex type.
What is very puzzling to me is the placement of the front sling slot. It is much lower down on the stock than a typical carbine. Even if it were a cut down 91 stock , the position is wrong. I am going to retract my bubba statement from earlier as I dont think he would go to the trouble of trying to...

Re: Unknow 1916 hex type.
I am leaning towards Bubba . The front sight looks to be from a Remington US model of 1917 rifle. At the very least it is an interesting conversion.

Re: Building a Garand
Excellent Thread and pics.. Many thanks for posting. NETNSHAWN and I are making a trip to the south store this week . It will mean an 8 hour drive , hotel room, and the cost of the rifle. As of now I am like a kid on Christmas Eve... Now that I have seen this I might have to plan a trip for next ye...

Re: kriegsmarine pistol
Pics would help, but if it matched except the mag and it functioned correctly, then I guess $800 isnt out of line. So long as it truly is Kriegsmarine marked. Here is a link to an auction that ended about a month ago, A fine example , with a fine price tag to boot.. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction...

Re: kriegsmarine pistol
I would venture to guess it is likely a Mauser model 1934 chambered in 7.65 (.32 acp ). Kriegsmarine marked Mausers are fairly sought after and hence quite pricey at times. Condition, and whether it is numbers matching, will play a big part in its value.

A bit more info is going to be needed. What type of handgun is it ? Do you have any pics? The Kriegsmarine used more than just one type of pistol...

Re: The anticipation is gonna kill me...
Well it arrived a few days ago and I am thrilled . I have not had a chance to start cleaning it yet but hope to in the next few days. I will take pics, before and after, and post them up for all to see. This one is so nice , and I have the fever so badly, that I have planned a trip in a few weeks t...

Congrats on a nice grab !! I picked one up not too long ago as well. They are very cool. I have yet to have the opportunity, or the ammo, to shoot mine. Here is a link to my old post with a few pics. http://www.russian-mosin-nagant-forum.c ... =6&t=18353

Re: M1 Carbine
Blue Sky imported ones have a not so good reputation, and it's not unusal to see them priced around $600. This is true, but I would add this . Blue Sky imports are typically 100% USGI parts. They take a hit in value due to their LARGE import mark and the potential to have a worn bore, but can be a ...

It will all be on the up and up.. we'll make sure all the notations are made in our books.. No worries insofar as trusting him goes. He knows way more than I do about the U.S. arms.

The anticipation is gonna kill me...
My brother in law , and fellow RMNF member NETNSHAWN , made a trip to the south store today and very graciously procured an M1 for me . Here are the teaser pics he sent to me. 42 dated Springfield with a 44 barrel. If I recall correctly , it has a muzzle of 2 and a throat of 3.5 I will most assured...

Re: My newest acquisitions...
Took the bottom one in the pics to the show with me yesterday. A few folks showed interest, but more often than not, they didnt know what it is . I did run across one seller that had an original round for it . He told me it wasnt for sale as he would likely not be able to find another. I guess I sho...

JYD, the Colt isnt up my alley but a Luger or a 1911 would be just fine.. If only my budget would allow for it.

My newest acquisitions...
I swore I would not get involved in collecting military handguns. Then I bought the Nagant , then a Victory revolver. Suffice it to say I am weak. These are my two latest. Bought them together. The Enfield is certainly a keeper but the jury is out on the other. It really is a bit outside of my coll...
