Re: Cleaning mosins like they used too...

It is obvious that your post is simply intended to get a rise out of folks. The comment about the recoil being less than a .223 , your ridiculous cleaning attempt , and then the ever more asinine comment that you don't intend to oil it only attest to this fact. Are trying to prove your manhood in s...

Re: Enfield question

Matching and an early import with the small mark would be a better deal , but yes I think it is fair. The prices seem to have come down a bit on these as reasonably priced ammo is tough to find these days.

Nice find. BTW , I have more 1907 bayonets than I have Enfields.. I can dig them out and see exactly what I have if you are interested in one.

Appears to be an all matching , as built (non refurb), Russian SKS. Nice to see that you still have the original cover. These are quite sought after nowadays and yours is likely worth at least 3 times what you paid for it...

Re: No. 1 Mk 3 Lee Enfield, need help.

You will need to provide more specifics before we will be able to tell you if it is truly over priced.. Condition and whether or not it matches plays a huge part with these. Non matching and rough shape, I would pass. Matching and in good shape , $325 is about its value on todays market. You wont b...

Re: steyr 660

660 is the code for Steyr , which is in Austria. Look at the left side of the receiver. Does it say Mod.98 or G29/40. Both were made at Steyr , the latter being an earlier rifle and very sought after..

Re: Type 99 Arisaka - Series 37 Tokyo Juki Kogyo

I am going to guess it is an early "last ditch" as it still sports a complete rear sight and a finished bolt. Very nice piece. The intact mum and lack of import mark definitely say "bring back" to me. Oh and you can say all day long that you will stop at 2 . Good luck with that....

Re: 1916 Ishapore Lee Enfield

Beautiful rifle !! I was not aware that Enfield production had started that early at Ishapore in India. Now that I have done some reading it seems they started making the No.1 in India in 1909. Ya learn something every day .. The mag cut off is a plus. Sweet find , congrats.

Re: Which affordable C&R pistols do I need?

Smith and Wesson Victory Colt Commando Webley Enfield No2 Mk1 The question is, can I buy any of these for $400.00 or under? Yes you can. The Enfield and the Webley can typically be had under the $400 mark. The Colt and the Victory are available in that range as well , it will just take a bit of loo...

Re: Gun room flooded

I am sorry to hear that. I would remove the Butt plates so there is no water trapped and leave them butt down. You might place them on newspaper to draw the water out. You will need to change it often. A fan to push the moisture away couldnt hurt as well.

Re: Lee Enfield Question

Bubba Alert !! :o :o There were no carbine versions of a No4 ever produced except the Jungle Carbine , which bears the nomenclature of No5 Mk1. If I am not mistaken there were a few importers in years past that hacked up these rifles to make them more appealing. They called them Tanker versions , a...

Will you be able to look at it prior to committing ? I dont see anything wrong with it from the pics, aside from the missing magazine. It is likely that they just dont know what they have..

Re: Khyber Pass 303?

The rifle in these pics is a No4 Mk1. I concur with looking for legible markings. It should read No4 Mk1 on the left side of the receiver , possibly with an FTR date. It could be marked FAZ, Longbranch, or even Savage. Serial numbers should be on the receiver (or wrist) and on the back of the bolt ...
