Re: 28/30 civilian modell

Really cool. Never seen a civilian sales rifle, only heard of them. I speculate that someone purchased the rifle and then had the scope mounted either right away or at some point during ownership. I agree that some collectors would be turned off by the modifications... you cannot call it bubba thoug...

Wow. Not often you can track the whereabouts of a rifle, let alone one that's been to so many places! Cool!

I also loaded up on surplus when I first started collecting Mosins, which was not that many years ago. I don't remember the cheapest I paid per crate, but it was a good deal for the time. Since I don't fire a ton of surplus anymore, what I have I would consider darn close to a lifetime supply! I mos...

Nice haul Judy! I'm really liking that M1 and regret selling mine... although it was because it was a Universal made M1 with GI parts.

My thought as well. Or maybe Korea.

Either way, nice looking carbine!

Re: I shot a ppsh41 and a pps43, and I liked it!

Sounds like a blast! Pun intended! An alternative to spending so much money for a full auto license and expenditure on those weapons is to build or buy a semi auto version, or even a deactivated model to add to the Russian weapons collection or Finnish collection for that matter as they built the M3...

Re: 1933 M27 modification JP-X1

He posted in another post that the screw was missing already and by the way the silver solder under the base seems to hold everything in place not the screw like most of us think, myself included. I have sliced spray tip extensions for the carb cleaner I use on several sight tips to raise them. The...

Re: ammo

what ammo are you guys getting your best accuracy out of your 91/30,s ? :) That's a loaded question.... pun intended! :chuckles: For me, I'm either shooting for fun and I will use surplus ammo and maximum accuracy, or difference in accuracy between surplus plays no role. OR I'm shooting for results...

M44's at Cabelas

I was driving by the local Cabela's yesterday so I decided to stop in and see of they had any .22. (nope!) So of course I checked out the gun rack. No M91/30's as I suspected, BUT they had around 10 Molot M44's on the rack. All were either 1944 or 1945 Izhevsk. Price was $350, which I think is high,...

Here is one of my M28's with a cool stock repair in the "usual" place.

I don't have pictures of my M39 on this computer or I would post mine, but I'm surprised no-one posted up the typcial M39 round plug repair yet! I'll leave that torch for the next poster...

Re: RIP 1917 Remington M91

Jim, it's a sad day to retire a rifle. Sorry to hear. On the other hand, have you ruled out all possibilities? Action screws are tight? Have you used .312 bullets?

Actually, never mind. A Remington M91 is a nice one to look at, and now you have the best excuse for buying another M91!

Re: First Finn of 2015 - I forgot about auction - controvers

I like the look of this one... even though there's a 99.999% chance it's a put together rifle. The scope looks legit from your pics. I can't tell with the mount and base with no close ups of them. Either way, if it's anything like my B barrel M91, you will be very pleased as a shooter. Too bad they ...

I have a SBR, a fun gun but it is so stupid to pay for the tax on a gun that falls between a pistol and a rifle.
Is the tax stamp something that needs to be paid every year or is it a one time thing?
