Re: M1903 Remington "Springfield"
That rifle is beyond cool. It's so cool that tequilla uses it to make margaritas. It's so cool that if you look up cool in the dictionary, there are those very pictures next to the definition to illustrate true coolness. Cool. Or, as Eric Cartman would say, Cue well.

Re: FN Model 1949 Egyptian
That's a nice looking rifle there Miller. Mine has a brass butt plate and is 8mm. Yep, the seller warned me about the magazine and said that you have to be careful putting the spring back in after cleaning it. He also warned me about pinching my fingers when loading, but it has a bolt retention (swi...

Re: FN Model 1949 Egyptian
Just gorgeous... :vcool: :vcool: :vcool: Not sure how many x is but it was worth it :D I didn't want to humiliate myself by saying how much, until I did some internet surfing and checked the going prices. I think I did OK, I guess. He had it listed for 795.00 and I offered 600.00 and he took it. 64...

FN Model 1949 Egyptian
Well, I went and looked at the Eddystone M1917 Enfields today. There were four, ranging from 459.00 up to 579.00 in price. The bores were really bad in all of them. The least expensive one's bore almost looked as smooth as a shotgun bore, not quite but really bad. The other three really weren't much...

Re: Fill me in on the Eddystone 1917 Enfield
Thanks ya'll for all the information. Juries still out on whether I go buy one tomorrow. My brain says, "sure you can", but my wallet says, "whoa, hang on there". But if I run true to form, pics will be posted here tomorrow night.

Fill me in on the Eddystone 1917 Enfield
I went to one of my favorite gunstores today. The prices are usually way high, but it's like walking into a firearms museum when you go in there. Their inventory is unbelievable. Every from 1911's, to Lugers, to 1973 Colts, to Winchesters and so on. Anyway, I was looking at an '03 Springfield (1500....

Blurred out serial numbers
I've noticed that some of the posters here blur out part of the serial numbers on their rifles. Should I be doing this and is there something I don't know about? I've just been posting the pics of my rifles with the serial numbers visible.

Re: Rock Island M1903
He gave me a rough idea, there was a lot of stuff he glossed over, I found out later from guys over at the VFW that he had seen a lot of action, was decorated, and rarely talked about his own war. He would talk endlessly about the war itself, the reasons for it, how badly things were screwed up dur...

Re: Rock Island M1903
I'd be so happy to get ANY '03 I'd probably soil myself (yeah, I said SOIL myself). But one carried through a war by the man it was originally issued to, someone who could tell you exactly where he and that rifle went, what they did, how he felt while he was carrying it, now that is something at a w...

Re: No5. Jungle Enfield
I saw one of these today in a pawn shop. Price tag said 695.00, but it said 20% off. Seem kind of high to me. There was also a Mauser above it with no price tag. After 10 minutes of watching the owner/employee (who ever he was) chatting with a buddy and ignoring me, I left. I wouldn't have paid that...

Re: Accessory Sources?
Just ordered a used leather sling and cleaning kit from gunsnammo. Thanks for the link. Now I need to find me a bayonet. Probably will have to pay more than I paid for the rifle, but I need it in case I'm ever in Finland with it and the Russians attack. You never know. I got my leather Finn sling a...

Re: Out For Delivery
The only firearm I've ever ordered from an internet site is an antique percussion cap double shotgun. Even with a C&R license (which I don't have yet), I have a hard time ordering something that I've never held in my hands and personally inspected. I know I'm screwing myself, but I guess it's a ...

Re: In less than a month......
By the way sb, I didn't see any mention about your longbow or recurve. I'd like to see more if them. The longbow is made of Vine Maple by Jim Boswell out in Washington state. He owns rudderbows. They are inexpensive, but very servicable long bows. (http://www.rudderbows.com) It's a good way to get ...

Re: In less than a month......
What I am wondering is, after all of those fine purchases, is that loverly lady in the photo still in the picture? My wife would have me so far back in the dog-house I would never shed all of the fleas. Looks like a fine month, congratulations. :D Well, she died in Dec. 2009. But she would have bee...

Re: In less than a month......
I'm shocked. Nobody jumped in my s**t for putting an M1 sling on the VZ 24. Or maybe ya'll are just being polite to a beginner. Only when you put the bringback Gewehr bayonet on the VZ 24 that was too much for me to handle :!: Yeah, and now I've gotta get a Gewehr 98. Ya'll are killing me here. You...

Sometimes there's stuff listed here, http://gun-deals.com/arms but you need to look around through the different catagories because stuff is in sub-catagories of the rifle you may want stuff from. Also you might look here, https://www.libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/ltc-default.asp? He has...
