Re: Another Eventful Gun Show Report
OK, here is the Westinghouse. I guess the bluing looks alright. I was just surprised that this rifle could still be in 90-100% blue. Everything else on it looked good to me. Wanted to tear it apart but can't get the front ring unscrewed. Looks like someone tried to remove it and ended up tightening ...

Another Eventful Gun Show Report
Hi guys. Just got back from another Northern Michigan Gun Show and I spent a little more than I wanted to. I am not seeing the prices that I am hearing about elsewhere. It may be that these guys are cash-strapped or I am simply naive. I will post some pictures later but thought I would let you know ...

Re: Picked up another ex-Dragoon
Oh, just noticed. No war time stock, early prewar stock. It's a post war stock. It has press in escutcheons. Pre war would have been screw in escutcheons. I was not referring to the '25, the subject of this post, but to the '21 I found right after I made this post and made reference to above. The '...

Re: Picked up another ex-Dragoon
My son is picking it up for me tomorrow but he won't be up here until Easter weekend. Just have to wait on the pics but I'll get them up ASAP once it's in my hot little paws and had a chance to examine her sweet timbers. Picking up the '25 in the morning. Time for bed, too much excitment for o...

Re: Picked up another ex-Dragoon
You must have been living right. That is a nice '25. I would like to see a close-up of the extra markings on the receiver if you get a chance. The only pictures of the receiver on the '25 is at the top of the post. You mean the '21 I just purchased? Haven't picked these up yet but close. I'll throw...

Re: Picked up another ex-Dragoon
I haven't seen the rifle close up yet. He said the numbers were very light. Could be scrubbed. Looks like there is some left on the right side. Haven't seen the tang or receiver yet other than what you see. Oh, just noticed. No war time stock, early prewar stock.

Re: My M44 from Classic Arms Arrived
Nice. :vcool: :vcool: And DesertGunner are you out there? This one is in the red - guess we will call this yellowish light red marking Molot Red. I just got an M44 from SOG - Molot too and in the Molot red. Mine was imported by PW Arms. Let me try and understand what is going on here at least from a...

Picked up another ex-Dragoon
Hi guys, Thought I would let you know of my most recent purchase. Haven't picked it up yet but it is local. Anyway got it from a fellow who is downsizing his collection as he is aging for under $200. I seem to be on a roll locally lately. Looks to be in remarkable condition. Numbers matching refurb ...

Re: What is the story on Mosins with factory repaired stocks
I have several Mosins with repairs - one has five. I like the look. Must have used different wood or something though cause they sure didn't, or should I say shellac, up the same. Knowing them, they probably did the repair after they dipped it or however they refurbished the stock...:bang: Regardles...
