Re: Rifle with some history

Finally got a chance to take some pics. I really like a nice honest rifle, and this one fits the bill perfectly. I am not able to tear it down to check out the tang date because there is a screw in front of the front band that will not allow me to move it. Any idea on that ?! Also never noticed but ...

Nope I have tried to get more picky in what I buy. It has to be a great deal because I'm out of space. Lol

I'm back, miss me ??

Hey Gang, I'm back.. Been a quick few months, been slammed.. Started a new Job (jury is still out if I made the right choice), and I had to get a new car as I'm driving 150+ miles a day and mpg is king. So I rebuilt the front clip of a 2007 Prius and it's been awesome so far mid 40's mpg all day lon...

Re: My First American !! (KEEP LOOKING!!!!)

You could flip that overnight and double your money easy. A little work, good photos etc, you could likely triple it. Very nice deal. The question now is how good does it shoot?!! My first American rifle was a m1903 Mark I with a 42 barrel. That one is an insanely good shooter. For a first American...

My First American !! (KEEP LOOKING!!!!)

You never know what you will find, even if you have been to a store 100 times.. Today is another day ! I have this one pawn shop that I stop in all of the time when I am traveling, its a cool shop, with good deals on guns. However they NEVER have any mil surps with the exception of the occasional bu...

Re: My rule on $100 Mil-Surps got me again... Type88 and Ari

Ok, let me get this straight. No rifle left behind if it is 100.00? But you spent 500.00 last month? Would you have bought a super fine collector grade rifle like a Finn m27 or m28 for 500.00? cool finds here, I like em both. 8-) I fail to see your logic. Lol I know your right, especially bec...

You would think you guys would be swimming in Long Branches up in the Great white North. Glad you finally found one, they are cheaper in the States but I still have not found that "right" deal yet on a Long Branch.

I have seen a bunch of 50 rnd boxes ranging from $4-8 a box and 333 rnd boxes in the $32-37 range.. I stopped buying as I have a supply built up and don't shoot as much as I would like. However if I come across a good deal, then watch out..lol

Re: My rule on $100 Mil-Surps got me again... Type88 and Ari

I also picked up this Arisaka, as I cant seem to leave them when they are A) cheap and B) have a full Mum. This one has a matching bolt body, and extractor but is missing its firing pin, spring, and cocking knob. I was told the previous owner let his grand son play with it, removed the parts so it c...

My rule on $100 Mil-Surps got me again... Type88 and Arisaka

Still traveling for work, and this part of the world has way more pawnshops and gun stores then my home base. I have picked up a ton of great items so far, and spent way way way to much money in the process. Funny thing is with the exception of a hand full of fresh referbs I have not seen a mosin an...

Re: My first year of Arisaka collecting.

I also just picked up my first Arisakas a few weeks ago, and they are a neat rifle with history for sure. I love that you can see the rifles get cruder as the Americans got closer.. I actually showed mine to a friend of mine who has ZERO interest in rifles.. He is however a huge history buff and he ...

Its so rare to trully know where a rifle has been, but being able to track it like you did thrugh it's stamps is just fantastic. Very nice find, and if you have others in the collection I can't wait to see them !!!

Re: Original, non-referbed Nagant revolver

No import mark? Could be from the SCW lot from Spain back in the 50's. Issued nagants are not common, I would have gone over the $200 mark for that one. Very nice find. This would likely not have had a holster or tools when it came in, but you should be able to find then from the refurb hoard. Coul...
