Re: my finnish m27 blood pitting??

There is nothing wrong with cleaning your Gun properly if you are going to shoot it , In fact you would be a fool not to ! I hope you stripped the Bolt to and cleaned inside ? I think most of us can take these apart blind folded , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wN6ql5dzu8 I can but you ought to se...

My other two M39s have import stamps "TG Knox. Tenn." Does anyone know what the origin of that stamp is?? All three came from Burns.

Re: New M44...

Hate it when the wind has to blow and I want to sight in. I picked up an M44 last year and haven't been out to shoot it yet. I need to take a day and get out there. I have noticed that the well seems to be drying up on those M44s. When I first started collecting, Buds still had M38s, but I wouldn't ...

They show "FREE50" I think it is, that you enter when ordering. It popped up when I was in there. I also read it on the Deals site that Weldonhunter shared on a post the other night. http://gun-deals.com/index.php?dealtype ... 4&subcat=5

Re: Milsurp ammo prices.

Damaged crates and/or people ordering single cans would seem the most likely reasons. I would buy the damaged crates explanation but filling single can orders would only add to extra crates being available or very few at that. And if the crates are damaged then perhaps your cans will be rusty or da...

Milsurp ammo prices.

I finally "bit the bullet" so to speak, and ordered a crate of 7.62x54r. I was looking at prices and noticed that Copes had a fair deal on 440 rd cans for $99.99 and a free shipping deal to boot.(Use coupon code) No crates or can openers though. I had ordered from another source because I ...

41' VKT M39

Good morning this first day of March! Just wanted to share some pics of my VKT M39 I picked up last month. Came with a sling for $424.50 OTD. I was after an early serial number so I finally settled for this after watching for a few months. Not quite as nice as I had hoped for but still I like it. Th...

Re: 91/30 groups

Do you wear glasses? Can you hold the rifle perfectly still when shooting? What ammo will you be using? Ideally I look for a 1" grouping at 100 yards. I don't shoot rifle targets at less than 100 yards unless I'm not able to get hits on target and then I shorten the target distance. If you aren...

Re: x-sniper

I also have one of those late war 91/30 ex-snipers that racerguy00 mentioned. It is not a 47' but is a 44' Izhevsk that has a pristine bore. Brightest I have seen. It is accurate. 4 inches high at 100 yards but I believe it was sighted in for much farther distance and with different ammo. :2cents:

Re: x-sniper

An ex-sniper was removed from sniper duty for reasons of inaccuracy, as you stated, deemed so during the refurbishment process. Many things could contribute to this such as bore condition, (i.e. muzzle or throat erosion), damaged barrel, etc. Perhaps over stock after the war would have caused some t...

Re: New to the mosin game need advice

Welcome to the forum. Always good to have another enthusiast aboard! Its been almost three years now since I bought my first Mosin Nagant. I haven't been as big a collector as some but I have put a few together. I enjoyed picking up 91/30s once in a while, shopping at one of three cabela's in the s...
