Re: New here please educate me
Congratulations on acquiring a nice Sako M39! More pictures are always encouraged. I love my M39s! Only have 3 so far. I have watched the prices go up on them almost $100 over the last three years. Welcome to the forum.

Re: M39 education
Don't forget the Tikka. It is harder to come by in an M39. And a SAKO with Polustuslaitos stamped on the barrel is a little tougher to come by as well. Or a 1945 SAKO is a little harder to get.

Re: True matching Mosin?
This is definitely interesting. I can see where you could believe the font on the number stamping is identical. I cannot tell that they are not. The stock looks refurbished from what I can see. Is this a Russian import?

Re: Buds M44 prices
When I first found the M44 on SOG, they had sold off a few 91/30's. They had only been posted a day or two so there must not have been many. The M44 was priced in the $800+ range initially. It came down the next day. Just not down far enough. :2cents: I just checked and found the 91/30s are back......

Re: Ishevsk 1925 ex-dragoon.
:post_r: Photos always make it possible to answer questions more accurately. However, based on what you have mentioned, I would say that if you are happy with that rifle, then you may have paid what it is worth too you. Russian 91/30 rifles that are currently selling on the internet range from aroun...

Re: what are #2 stampings on my Mosin buttstock? pics
It is most likely some kind of an inspection stamp but the exact meaning of it is not available to us. As with many such markings, the Russians aren't talking.

Re: barrel
Reminds me of the 1944 VKT M39s that have that rough finish from the machining of the barrel at the receiver end. Not as rough as the war time Russian 91/30 but still interesting.

Re: which mosin
Love my M44 but I shoot my M39s more. I love my M39s! I carry an old 1891/30, 1930 Izhevsk in postwar stock, with a little throat erosion, for a truck gun. Thinking about getting another M44 for a truck gun though. Gotta love those carbines!

Re: Easter Sunday eye candy - my M39 Sk.Y. in detail
Well I say you have something to be proud of! Nice collection in itself. Kept my attention clear through to the last! Maybe its not all authentic WWII 1943 stock material but it is a very good presentation! A very good display! Thanks for taking the time to share all of it with us! :thumb...
