Re: FFL 03 C & R Question
"Collector". And don't sign your original. When you need to provide a copy of your license, make a copy and sign that as well as filling out the other information (name, signature, date and status). Every C&R firearm you purchase or sell must be booked in your C&R bound book. When...

Re: FFL 03 C & R Question
Wooooaaah,........ there has been a lot of changes in California in this area. I know, I'm here also. After 1 jan 2015 all firearms have to be registered with California DOJ, just like handguns now. In order to do that There is now additional Licenses (well, really a certificate). To purchase any C...

Pietta LeMat Takedown?
I bought a used Pietta Lemat on GB a week or two ago and it arrived yesterday. It is like new, never fired and just perfect in every way, I'm over the moon about it. I have had some less than perfect Piettas in the past and this LeMat is certainly a big step up from anything I have ever seen from th...

The dumbest thing I ever did? Several years ago I bought a MN sniper at Big 5. Sometime later I found this list and realized what I had spent the hard earned on . . .

Re: FFL 03 C & R Question
I like collector. It works without being a smartass answer. How about the second question? No need to fill out info on the firearm to be transferred? The seller keeps track on their end? If CA didn't have great weather we wouldn't be here. Ya gotta wonder just how much people will put up with for th...

FFL 03 C & R Question
A couple of years ago I read the information on this RMNF in the info section and applied for and received my FFL 03 after several months of waiting. My life has often been a volatile one and for one reason or another, I never bought a firearm that the new license would help with. Now I have several...

Re: Sorting out the Uberti Dragoons?
In the age of personal confusers & laser printers there is very little "footprint" to track in establishing the origins of such a note. Even the paper size is unknown as the slip was rudely cutdown with a pair of scissors. Whatever the origin, Dixie sold the revolver without mentioning...

Re: Revolvers, Crisco, Corn Meal & Cream of Wheat?
Two of our listmates have had chainfire incidents so for whatever reason, chainfire is a real danger. I was looking over a Uberti Colt 1851 .36 Navy last night to see what would happen if it suffered a chainfire. It would not be pretty, the end of the barrel & wedge are right in the way.

Re: Sorting out the Uberti Dragoons?
I bought the Uberti Walker 20 or so years ago and there was never an issue with it. Here is the note that was right on top of the other paperwork included with the box: http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj97/hudson1929/Colt%202nd%20Dragoon/2nd-Dragoon-01.jpg Note the spelling of the word "too&...

Re: Mosins in bulk
I have an acquaintance who asked about purchasing 200-300 Mosins for a project. A legal project I might add that will not harm the Mosins in any way. Other than the case of a few of you weeding out duplicates in your collection is it even possible to purchase a few hundred Mosins in one or two batc...

Re: Sorting out the Uberti Dragoons?
I'll shoot some pictures and post them Friday. It is a beauty.
The more I think about the wedge issue the more I have to think Uberti probably made a batch of these machined wrong. I can't imagine these revolvers needing such care in the field.

Re: Revolvers, Crisco, Corn Meal & Cream of Wheat?
I don't know enough to say, but found this thread in a google search. One guy mentions your excess pressure concerns, but nothing is more is said about it. It seems that the over bullet grease just helps keep the fouling soft, and that chain fires seem to be caused more from ill fitting caps than a...

Re: Sorting out the Uberti Dragoons?
The 2nd Model Dragoon from Dixie arrived today and it is a very nice HEAVY revolver. I understand it is 3.5 lbs so it is considerably lighter than the Walker. I like the feel of it and look forward to shooting it. It seems comfortable in the hand and that matters to me. Inside the case was the usual...

Re: Revolvers, Crisco, Corn Meal & Cream of Wheat?
Nobody has an opinion about the barrel bulge issue? That is the only thing that might stop me from using Crisco or Bore Butter or something else.
I di like the idea of gunsmoke that smells like fried chicken . . .
