Heck, the scabbard is harder to find than the bayonet. Nice score all around!

Izhy? That is a new one to me. Nice rifle though. Martin pretty much summed up the trigger guard/ finger rest thing though, that is all I was going to add.

War time expedience; if it works, that's good enough. Excellent example of this. Thanks for posting it!

Re: Electro pencil affect value?

Dot matrix import marks are a fact of life as everyone has already said. Electro penciled part numbers are a deal breaker for many though on a lot of rifles. Not that it effects the value per say outright; but it does limit the market for resale, thus indirectly effecting the value. Some collectors ...

Re: Import marks

I don't know if it is so much that it adds more to the price, but it does open up the market to those collectors (though small in numbers) that refuse to buy anything that does have an import mark.

Re: 1918 Remington Armory - Showcase Submission

I'm thinking that that is one of the American Mosins captured by the Japanese when the they captured 4 box car loads of American made Mosins on the Amur Railroad in 1920. About 50,000 rifles were also captured by the Chinese in 1920 along the Chinese Eastern Railroad also; but I'm not sure I have ev...

Re: Spur of the moment purchase

Yeah, Finland used quite a few different finishes on their rifles throughout the years. I can't always tell if it is an arsenal finish or a bubba finish on some Finnish rifles. This is one of those rifles. I say it was a good buy.

Re: Took the GF and the dog to the range today.

Heck, I guess what I am saying is I get more irritated with people calling an Izhevsk an "Izhevsk" than I do people calling a detachable magazine a clip.

Re: Took the GF and the dog to the range today.

Weldon I call them magazines too, but calling people uneducated in gun terminology because they use the word clip for a detachable magazine is a bit of a recent "hot button" "you don't know firearms" issue. It's not the end of the world. Many of experienced gun enthusiasts have c...

37 is the last year of any documented SCW Mosins. Now, there is a possibility that 1938's do exist; bit not a single one has ever been documented.
