Re: Type-63 Carbine, North Korean SKS
Most excellent presentation, Martin! Now I know even more about a SKS carbine I'll never be able to afford, even if I could find one!

Re: AK-47 scope
I mainly put the PSO on my AK, because it was just lying there and looked cool. A better idea would be to get the Kalinka side rail (I owned one once & they are great) and then mount whatever optic you want onto the Weaver rail. I had a red dot on mine.

Re: AK-47 scope
SA, those are the same as the one on my AK. Just need to confirm how accurate they are out to 300m. Past that, I think the issue will be the x39 round, not the scope.

Re: AK-47 scope
OO, since I wasn't certain what would happen ranging with my LPS scope, which are also referred to as a PSO-1, PSOP or TIP-2 scope (confused everyone?)...I decided to look up some things. Apparently, these scopes are range calibrated for the same MOA, so they will work on both calibers. That's at le...

Re: AK-47 scope
I guess I like having an optic that I could use for quick distance, elevation and windage adjustments and the TIP2 will do that. Now, what I don't know, is how well it will work with the 7.62x39 round vs the 7.62x54r, which is what it is designed to be used with. Once the weather gets a little bette...

Honestly, I'm glad I don't have a C&R. I'd be so much more in debt, plus it leaves more for you guys!

Re: AK-47 scope
Well, I haven't seen them for under $100 in a long time, so...Centerfire Systems used to have them pretty cheap, but that was without the rubber boots. If he'll go for it, I can just send you cash, plus a finders fee, of course. I don't want you using your own money for this, but I appreciate it! Ju...

Re: AK-47 scope
I have seen these on-line for $99.00 for scope and mount. The only thing that has held me back is that the add says it fits "some" AK side rails. My AK is a WASR-1, and I would not be knowing if it would be a fit or not. Yeah, that is the trick and not all rails will work. The only ones t...

Re: AK-47 scope
My local gun shop has one of these scopes and the mount for $125. It is also off a PSL. He also has one on a AK and says it shoots good. :D Des, see if he'll go $100 and I'll buy it! The one I have is a little beat up aesthetically. I should have bought 20 of these things a year ago when they were ...

Re: AK-47 scope
Nice, Drago! thanks. can you get any accuracy with it? To be honest, I haven't taken her out and re-sighted the scope in. When it was on my PSL, I was getting 2-3 MOA. Here's what the reticle looks like on these. The numbers on left are range finding. Very neat scopes and they are only about $100-1...

Re: What is YOUR favorite SKS?
That's a hard question. Some of mine are "prettier" than others, but some other's are more rare. I'd have to say, since I'm an Ex-DDR SKS collector, that my '49 Ex-DDR is my favorite, plus she's nice to look at, too. I doubt I'll ever see another one, or if I do, be able to realistically a...

Re: AK-47 scope
This is what they look like. They are called a LPS 4x6 TIP2 scope. I took this one off of my Romanian PSL when I sold it and put it on my WASR. There's also supposed to be a rubber eye cup/eye relief on the end, but I can't seem to find mine. http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad210/DragoAK/Romanian...

Kodi, first off, welcome over here! Second, I'm thinking I should NEVER have advised you to jump on that worthless POS and then stole it out from under you!! j/k! When it comes to specimens like yours, I really don't think they can get any better. Maybe if you had a photo of Mr. Siminov kissing it a...

Re: Um...Wow...Please school me up on this one
I looked at the winning bidder and "supposedly" he has bought a number of things from the same seller. Totally looks shilled, to me, but I don't know this market or the players. If we are talking SKS's, then I can spot some of the unscrupulous seller, pretty easily. This is why I even brou...

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=276456789 Sorry, if this has been discussed already. I looked and looked and didn't see a thread on this. Maybe my noob-ness is showing, but I can't figure this auction out...at all. The starting bid was like any normal price/starting bid on an M38...

Re: Drago's DDR TUTORIAL (sticky)
Nice looking stock on that one, Howie. What's the stamping look like on the bayonet?
BTW, I didn't realize I had broken links. They are fixed now, with the addition of a really crisp bayonet marking of a /R\.

Re: Feb GunBroker Sales-Election time
It would, at this point, be hard to deny that people aren't willing to give up cold hard cash to obtain a SKS. I sure know I am!
