................forgot to mention the beer for the marinade and the wash-down of the sandwiches : Steel Reserve Lager 211 Extra Gravity 8.1% , only for beer connaisseurs! Too bad, too sad!, If I had had something like this around here, I might have gone for a second mortgage or maxed my cards.....the guys in my BIG 5 are collectors, too, so I never saw the original take, when the guns came in..... but I am happy with what I got from them , including a 59-66A1 SKS the...

Re: California proposes 5 cent tax per bullet sold

Woohoo, Hoshow, right on! As long as I have to dwell here, I will carry on shaving that ugly face staring at me out of the mirror, cause they do not like "facial Hair" at work. I'll move to AZ , grow a beard and live in an old mine, as soon as I can fully retire....and I'll have Pretzels a...

Re: Hoppes Bore Snake

OK, Guys, look at the history of rifle cleaning tools: There is no "snake" for cleaning military rifles!...at least as far as I know. Ropes have been used as a pull-through item with, one tool attached. Also aluminum part chains to avoid hurting the rifling while pulling one tool. Integrat...

Hoshow, BTW, the copperwashed stuff could be from more than 4 Russian factories, Bulgaria , Romania , Jugoslavia, Poland, DDR etc. The stamps on the rims will tell you. Like 188 at the 12 0clock position and 72 at the six Oclock position tells you Novosibirsk produced 1972, and so on. Bulgarian Fact...

Hoshow, anything new Barnaul, Klimovsk, Tula or RUAG is OK as long as it is not in laquer like Brown Bear and don't waste money on US 54R, you might have a rude awakening like my friend (I only hunt with the best ammo available!) He had to buy a shell extractor and use it 3 times on a 20 pack Win 54...

Re: 7.62x54r

I get nervous when I am offered open surplus and try to find out the origin, immediately. If I don't recognize it, I pass. I''ll always ask why the can is open. If the answer makes sense, maybe, but most of the times my gut tells me to stay away from unknown dealers. Loose rounds just give me the cr...

Boss, that's why I have nothing in there any more, just my little ammo drawer as above and my Cooey, ROFLMAO. My wife has long since refused to put her car in there, for fear of spiders getting into it..... I did not mind, so far. Now I have enough room for my collection of air and other legal pelle...

How about a 5 cent a piece for every lie produced by a politician here in CA since the declaration of statehood, including all ever candidates for office from city to county to state....we then would not need the gun-owners to pay for the undisputed and never prosecuted abusers of our social net her...

No problem with old or young 188 ammo, in ten years.
Just make sure your barrel is cleaned out nicely and your headspace is fine...check after 500 rounds. But that would be done with other ammo, too, or......

So much to the wood chucks...... :chuckles: :chuckles: :chuckles: However, going through my 1-drawer ammo armory with a magnifying glass I found 25 .22s, 10 22LR, a box of 15 7.62x54R on clips and 2 boxes of 7.62x39, 10 rounds of .303 and 2 30:30 rounds. Re: Just ordered 20 stripper clips for my Mosins

Been shooting co surplus ever since I got my first Mosin 10 years ago. That particular rifle has today a pit-free, well rifled (for the age and use) bore and shoots 3 inch groups on 200m. I understand the mind-set of not using water, but it is my experience that water takes out the salts that you do...
