First deer sighting from the stand

This doe and her fawn just now walked by me about 30 yards in front of my stand. Not really expecting to see a buck this morning, but seeing these two for just a minute makes my time in the stand worth it. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/07/333b10e378da72113832713a6e43c889.jpg http://images.tap...

Re: .45ACP question

Yup, my short thumbs make most double-stack pistols too uncomfortable for me. I love my Rock Island. I'll stick with single stacks, unless we're talkin' pancakes  then I'll have a double stack please.

Re: Winchester Model 12

Thanks for all your input. I didn't know all this so that's why I ask. I haven't shot the thing yet so now that I know, I'll stick with lead shot.

Winchester Model 12

This is my Winchester Model 12 Standard, 12ga pump, 2 3/4 chamber and full choke. This one was made in 1953. Someone commented to me that I shouldn't put steel shot through it, is this true and if so, why not? Honestly I'm not much of a shotgun buff but I decided to buy one and figured I'd go find a...

Re: Coyote hunting tips

Get a Quiver Critter (@$30 at Midway) Big5 or whatever is similar down there should have them also, a rabbit distress call, some good cover scent and/or Scent Killer, the rifle of your choice, some camo clothes, set that decoy in the field about 30-100 yards out from where you've hidden yourself on...

Coyote hunting tips

Does anyone here have any expertise to share on the subject of coyote hunting in the rural wooded southeast? I'd like to hunt coyotes but don't know the right tactics, techniques, and procedures. What works, and what doesn't? I know I have coyotes around, and my land is mostly heavily wooded, but I ...

Zeroing my PU 91/30 - Range Report (another video)

I took my PU 91/30 out to re-zero it for hunting this season (deer season started last week). An overview of the rifle with pictures is posted here: http://russian-mosin-nagant-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25719. In short it is a 1943 Ishevsk PU 91/30 imported by RGUNS. I was using Sellier &...

Re: Naked and afraid...T53

Lol "yous guys" So I got some parts and a stock and got rounds to hit paper. Once I got it on paper I was shooting quick because I was running out of daylight. Here's that group at 100 yards. I'll fine tune my grouping another day since the sun went down on me. I was sure to clean it with ...
