Your favorite Mosin to shoot

Probably my '44 Izhevsk 91/30 PU cuz it hits stuff pretty darn good. Although I'll be taking my M39 to the range soon so I'll see what it can really do. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160829/4012ec9e8112e2b73bb6ddfa6429943c.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160829/c88fc0f186406abf43c007888ded...

Re: Hunting Log

JYD, you must have been reading some H.P. Lovecraft stories. However, it was a little eerie. I had this feeling something was behind me several times.

Sonny, I'll try not to get old, but fortunately it's not a mountainous land here. I only wish we had elk on this side of the country.

The P14 - where it all began

The first milsurp rifle I ever saw was the first rifle I ever owned, and was a gift. One day when I was at my Papa's house (papa means granddad here) at the age of 14 he said to me, "here I want to show you something" and presented me with this rifle. I was fascinated by it and he gave it ...

Gander Mountain clearance

Just picked up a new lightweight rip stop shirt and pants in RealTree extra green for the warm foliage full spring and late summer/early fall hunting months for $35. What a deal. I hope they end up lasting a good few years. If not, then oh well I didn't invest too much.

Re: Open season

Brake Weight is that your buffet spread? It sounds tasty. We have all you have minus the Big cats and wolves here in SC. Just the other day I was loading some sacks of concrete mix into my truck from a covered pallet in my yard. When I picked up the last bag from the bottom of the stack I encountere...

Open season

Well not really, not for two more weeks at least. Although I did kill 5 monsters today, 5 monster arachnids. Yesterday I went to service my trail cam out in the woods in my favorite hunting spot and was surprised to find my way blocked by an enormous web with a very large exotic looking spider. We s...

This was my fugliest gun up to a few hours ago. It just sold. I send it off to a new home tomorrow. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160711/9a7c0d9282529bc9db50cada6cf9ba22.png http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160711/50457a56650e15ae965fc9e5ae155742.png http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160711/a73...

Re: M1 Garand people come in have a gripe...

Given your record of, what I would consider exotic dining, I figured you might have dressed it and cooked it. :BBQ2: :chain: He cooked me the best venison backstrap dinner I have ever had when I went to Georgia a couple years ago. Although I didn't see any antlers around, he said it was fresh venis...

I have a Mosin rat hunting story.
What did that taste like?
Didn't eat it. I found it snoozing behind my laundry appliances so I skewered it with a Mosin spike and disposed of it. It really was the only practical way of getting to it without scaring it off.

Re: New Marlin .22

I have a Marlin Model 60 Special Edition that my uncle found at the bottom of the Edisto River while scuba diving. I was able to clean it up and it still works. This was about 12-13 years ago.

Well dang. That was a tough evil looking beast. I wonder if the 54r would even be able to handle one that big.

Hog-Wild Turkey Calling, Bring In Backup

Turkey season opened last Sunday, and my dad and I had been planning for the last couple of weeks to go turkey hunting today. I had been scouting the property and wasn't feeling too confident we'd have success with turkeys, but I was positive we'd see some wild hogs, so I planned to bring a backup g...

Re: AR scope question

I recently sold a carry handle scope mount that was issued to me. (It's surprising the things they let you keep). I was issued a CCO red-dot for my M16. Made it top-heavy in my opinion. Sure was a lot of material for a red dot and no magnification. Good luck with your scope. May it bring joy to you ...

Still got the ones you gave me, Chuck. I hadn't thought about making copies for use. I think I'll try that.
