Re: Manufacturing Specifications for 7.62x54R Mosin Nagants

I work in a factory where we drill many thousands of holes on CNC machinery every day. Sometimes when a drill gets dull, it produces an over sized hole, and sometimes it will be undersized. It all depends on what caused the drill to fail. There are many variables that cause holes to be out of spec i...

That's a nice looking Hungarian. My Hun looks like it was kicked through a gravel pit.

Re: m44

The stocks finish is weird. Looks like a finish bubba would do, not a shellac like a refurb. The bolts font is also different, look at the A. Yes, I see the different A now in the magnified photo. The finish is not bubba, though it looks a little like it in the pic. It looks similar to a pristine R...

Re: question about a MO double (?) date

I think what you are saying is that the original production date is buried under the 51/54. That seems most likely, because they weren't building the 91/30 in '51. Hard to say without pics. Original date maybe partially scrubbed or something, also. No one really has any concrete answers as to the me...

Re: m44

You are right. It is different. I would say I cant believe I didn't see it, but my eyes are not getting any better. So that stock was probably put on later, but the magazine looks original.

Fantastic Finn find. I have yet to see a Tikka 91-30 in person, let alone at a killer price.

m44

Picked up a few more Mosins today at a show. I really didn't need another m44, but this one was so clean and new looking I figured I should grab it. Its a 1945 that appears to be non refurbed. The serials are all the same font. Bluing on the barrel is purple or plum like a Finn. The wood is not the ...

Re: Three clean M44s

Nice bunch of m44s. I really like shooting the carbines. Fun weapons for sure. I had my brother over to the house a few weeks ago and I had to show him the fireball produced by the m44. He was impressed to say the least. You cant go wrong with a reasonably priced m44.

Re: K31 Swiss

Nice rifle and the best ammo you can get for it. Keep it - supplies of it aren't unlimited, since they are no longer made. Even here in neighbouring Germany GP 11 becomes ever more difficult to find. BTW, the tag you found means that this rifle once belonged to a Monsieur Jean Humbert, born 1936, w...

Re: PMR

Nice Score! A good friend of mine has two of these. He bought them when they first became available. Really nice handguns. Very lightweight. They feel like toys in your hand at first. At 25 yards I tore up the bullseye at the range.

Re: Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 Magnum

Way cool. 44 mag is the way to go with the Ruger single action, in my opinion. I have the same gun except with the 4-5/8" barrel and rosewood grips. I love the 44 mag cartridge. My first wheelgun I ever bought was a Ruger 44 mag.

K31 Swiss

I got this rifle in tandem with the Enfield I posted earlier. All #s match. Beat up pretty good. Bore is perfect, as usual on these. Found a tag under the butt plate. Should make a good shooter anyway. Well worth the 150 bucks I have in it.

Found another Sht Le enfield

Got me a 1917 sht Le III today. I found it next to the other rifle ( a k31) I will post after I get this one up. I ended up getting the pair for a even swap on a pistol I had 3 bills in. All #s match, even the magazine. I will let the pics show the rest.

Re: Cheated on my Mosins and it feels dirty.

Don't feel bad. My first love is the Mosins, Finned or otherwise, but I own every rifle you pictured here (except the jungle). You must feel dirty from some other misstep along the way. BTW, I like that MAS in the original caliber. Mine is in 308. Who am I kidding....I like all of them. Gr...

Re: 2014 Redhawk revolver deer kill

The Redhawk I used is the Hunter model, so it has the integral scope mounts. I prefer open sights on it, though. I had a 2x scope on it at one time.
