Re: My Collection of SKS carbines

with most all Chinese sks we have no information as to what when or where . I use the date system as most often used for triangle 26 guns so 23 may possibly be a 1979 gun It is definitely Military.

Re: SKS are getting up in pricing too ! !

while you have to admit there is a supply problem all the items are now in country and have been for some time. The dealers are scalping and no reason other than to take advantage of the situation. This may actually be the time to let these scalpers sit with no sales and make them understand they sh...

Re: sks's for sale for 229.00

those particular Chinese sks carbines came from the balkans region and are battle worn but collectable do to the fact of where they have been They are all early Factory 26 guns some are matched some not many oddball stocks from all over the region. Re: Spam cans of 7.62x39

ammunition that is packed in spam cans is packed in a vacuum so no air can speed up corrosion. I have seen WW1 .30 ammo packed in sealed cans in crates opened in like the day it was packed condition. When you repack in GI cans it would be advisable to pack some desiccant bags in with it. Mark the ca...

Re: My Collection of SKS carbines

the hooks are used by installers of central vacuum systems. They are great for doing the guns I cut them off in length and there is a small piece i remove that helps hold the pipe in. They do not damage the guns . They come in bags you should be able to get them somewhere online wholesale at a centr...

Re: Chinese receiver variations continued cast reciever

Cast receivers are fairly rare. When you say that the Rugers look so much better you are correct but keep in mind the Chinese sks is for the military not some consumer that will pick every blemish out and complain. To the Chinese the looks are not important. Some of my Chinese sks carbines are perfe...

Re: Hey Howie?

It may not have any bearing on it. The factory codes, as I have been told, can come from one assembly shop that stamps several different codes as they finish the weapon. This may or may not have any bearing on it. Parts are contracted with many different factories. The specifications must be met and...

Re: i need some PU mounting hardware

I have one of the Century PU rifles which was a hex receiver 1929 I bought a former 44 dated sniper and want to re install the mount on it. When I went to remove the scope mount they had used thread locker and the screw heads got torn as they were not hardened also the pins were destroyed trying to ...

Re: SKS and Cleanup after Corrosive Ammo

I use corrosive ammo and when I clean up I use citrus based cleaner(made from Oranges) in a Harbor Freight 20 gallon parts washer. It makes clean up really easy for all my guns. I usually follow it with balistol to make sure the bore is treated well then check on the bore during the next few days.

Re: Chinese receiver variations continued cast reciever

I would say steel and I would trust whatever the Chinese Military makes to be safe and reliable If you look over sks carbines you can find allot of cast parts. They farm out the parts manufacture to allot of different factories. The specs are the same but many parts are made by factories that stamp ...

Re: Norinco 366

It is a good idea to keep in mind that almost all of the type 56 carbines that are in the US were rebuilt before they arrived. Blade bayonets only were used at Factory triangle 26 (also known as factory 296 or later as 0296) The ones that were not rebuilt were early used guns, and of course any that...

Re: Re-picked up a Vz52/57 this week

the 52/57 was converted to 7.62x39 so its easy to find ammo for it. I had one some years ago but sold it Mine was one of the few smugled in from Grenada where the troops captured quite a few still in the crate . The guns were aid to Castro. Its nice you got the spare mags and pouches as well.

my latest fun clone build

Thought you guys might enjoy this clone built on a Polish 80% receiver drilled with a AK Builder jig which worked fantastic. The kit was a Romanian Kit with Romanian and Polish wood. The scope was a bring back from Iraq and I believe is Polish and is in English for settings. I have the well used pac...

Re: Just showin off my early Samco import M59.

that is a really clean example of a M59 which actually is a collectors item. if you want to preserve that Chinese spam can take a putty knife that is stiff and use the corner to puncture the back of the can in the center. Then get the edge of the putty knife in the hole you made and with a hammer cu...
