Mosin Heresy

Honestly I have not been as interested in milsurps like I used to be, the last happy time is long over. I'm considering walking the Phoenix gunshow this weekend with my last two Mosins, the Finn 91 I have in the showcase and my model 44. I may commit what on this site would be considered a sin, sel...

SKS is defiantly superior for hitting a target.

Re: Remington Rand with Grandpa's WW2 Grips

That's awesome getting to put your Grandfather's grips on a proper USGI 1911!!! I'd say if you could find some old pictures of his putting them under the grips would do it justice! I actually went through the old pictures and the wartime box looking for any pictures that may have been cut to fit un...

Remington Rand with Grandpa's WW2 Grips

I inherited my grandfathers WW2 1911 grips. These were on his WWII Remington Rand 1911, the grips are carved off the plexi from the windshield on a German aircraft. I've read GI's put photos under clear grips such as these, not sure if mine ever wore pictures? After a lifetime of these always being...

Beautiful 1903, really nice. They sure photograph better in natural light. Question, what ammo are you firing, M2 ball?

Advertised on a private sales forum in Arizona. A Chinese manufactured gun can be purchased here in the used market place for $400.00 an example of something similar in our regional market.

Re: Safariland Holsters for S&W K-Frame 4-inch Revolvers

I think some of the classic holsters for 4-inch, medium frame revolvers were the older Safariland black leather holsters. The basket weave leather is shown holding my Model 15 with stag grips. The plain black is shown with a Model 10. Both holsters size #29 are a perfect fit for the S&W K-Frame...

US model 1884 Trapdoor Springfield

First I need to say, Its really hard taking a good picture of a rifle that long with its bayonet attached. Working wall hanger, US model 1884, the serial number places it at 1885 production. Not much finish, woods nice because ir was refinshed at some point, cartouche's are not visible. The sling is...

Re: Tokarev question

A Russian gun is a piece of WW2 history, Russian service guns are always more desirable than the Chinese imports even mismatched. Sounds like you have a realistic expectation of what it will bring in mind. Region of USA influences the value also. So price it to reflect its condition while emphasizin...

Re: Early flat latch Smith and Wesson model 34

I think that I have seen an uptick in general interest in vintage revolvers lately. Ten years ago, they were really inexpensive in pawn and gun shops everwhere. Back then I became interested in older top-breaks. I have since given or traded all of my topbreaks to my son. I still like my swing-out c...

Re: Old Smith and Wesson Revolvers

I just ordered the missing "strain screw" missing on the side plate of the .32 pocket hammerless. I want to fire this one, maybe, decided that crew was placed there for a reason.

Re: Early flat latch Smith and Wesson model 34

That's a beauty of a revolver. I love the old S&W guns. Some of the earlier ones from the 50's may have been on the older I-frame which was also a frame they used for .32 caliber guns. Later guns from the 60's and 70's were on the newer J-frame like the S&W Model 31 in .32 S&W Long you ...

Early flat latch Smith and Wesson model 34

This one is a favorite shooter now. 1959 production model 34 22/32 Kit Gun. Smith and Wesson was saying that this was a .22LR on a .32 caliber frame. A kit gun was meant to be included in a camping kit, why they named it the .22/.32 Kit Gun. The flat latch was eliminated in 1963. The flat latch was...

Re: S&W M 15-3

I was wrong about my son's gun; it is a model 19-3 Combat Magnum. You folks made me have to go dig it out. It is a really nice piece with only a little bluing wear on the cylinder, and muzzle, but no turn line, so it must have more time in the holster than on the range. When he went to Tennessee, h...

Re: S&W M 15-3

Well went to the other local gunshow today and found one of the guns I was looking for to have the facsimile of the guns I carried in the USAF. S&W Model 15-3, 38 Special, 4 inch barrel, adjustable rear sight, basically a K-38 Combat Masterpiece. Just trying to narrow down the date, I know they...

Is the revolver chambered for .38 Special or .38 S&W? My understanding is that Colt went to wooden grips in 1921.

The holster looks like the same holster that came with the Hungarian PA 63. Accessories for the rifles, for the Arisaka's I got a little carried away.
