Re: Decided to Keep My MN's

You know my LGS owner had an interesting thought on this. He said that prices might be coming down for firearms not exported from Russia(enfields, arisakas, U.S. rifles). He said that that might be due to the fact that most collectors are older gentlemen and there are mot that many new young ones s...

Re: Finn M27 - Best bargain in Mosin Nagants?

Finn M91s, and M27s seem underpriced to me at the moment, IMO.

Re: M27 question

No, it's still a rifle.

However, there is a variant of the M27 that is a carbine, the M27rv. It's one of the rarest, if not the rarest model of M/N and is the only mosin produced outside of sniper rifles that utilized a bent bolt.

Looks like a 1941 Izhevsk? Yeah that's a nice one.

You have quite the rare rifle there, congrats!

I've probably seen 6-12 or so the past 5ish years, they're very difficult to find.

Re: First Mosin 1934 Izhevsk hex reciever

Question: Was shooting surplus ammo, the kind with the steel cores. About half of them sparked when they impacted the ground. Was shooting into a dirt hillside. The only thing I could come up with was there there must be rocks it hitting under the dirt. And ideas? Probably. Gotta be careful shootin...

Re: M28 or M28/30 decision to be made

Granted, I only have one Finn...but it is a 28/30. It is a very well built rifle, and even as worn as mine is, it is still a fine shooter. Congrats on the purchase!

My 1939 28/30 is posted in the showcase if you want to see another similar to yours.

As the others have said, great buy. The 47 is the real find there, you basically bought that one and got the other two free.

No. You can find another SVT later, the odds of finding another 41 Tula are slim at best.

Re: Latest Gunbroker Purchase

The stock on this rifle is different than any others I have. It feels different, like dry or aged. It feels like a 100 year old piece of wood should feel I imagine. It looks like it has the typical Finn applied finish...they do tend to look and feel a little dry. The stock was captured by Germany d...

Re: Finn M28/30

It's rebuilt, but early M28/30s (specifically 1932 28/30s) are rare. I'd feel ok in the $550 range that's been mentioned.

Re: I found this interesting.........................

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in order for it to be all matching and all original, doesn't it have to have the prefix that precedes the serial # on the receiver as well as the bolt, trigger assembly, and the butt plate? If no letters, then it's calle a force matched?? Yes, but even if it has those p...

Re: Found a Molot M24

So if it is determined that they are commercial refinished rifles with no collector value, is it OK to D&T them? Before I induce too many heart attacks with that statement, even if it was possible to prove they are commercial refinishes, I don't advocate the above, and wouldn't do that. But if t...

I have one in 20 with the adjustable chokes. Solid shotgun, I have more trigger time on it than any other model shotgun. I'd recommend it.
