Re: How to acquire your C&R FFL license

Older thread here, thought I'd post my recent experience.. Sent out app form 2/17 and recieved the FFL03 license today 3/14. The only interaction was with CLEO, who asked "do I know you?" I said "nope" He says "then I dont see a problem, good luck with the ATF!&qu...

Re: Another Fin to the collection.

I picked up "The Book of Rifles" at a secondhand store the other day.
It has info about "modern" rifles from countries all around the world (originally printed in 1948)
Here's the section on Finland. I don't know if this is all correct, but I found it to be interesting.

In case anyone was wondering...
Here's what came from Sportsmans guide.
I declined on the Buyers club membership then at the last minute, there was a pop up offering free 30 day membership so it came to $284.99 with free ship.

Re: No Mosin Nagants!

Thanks for the heads up about scrap prices, I had not checked yet. I mainly just need to get rid of this junk pile. Its sinking in the mud and during summertime its so tangled with weeds I cant get at it. I was auto mechanic for 15yrs before landing a job for a local utility company. I saved a lot o...

Re: No Mosin Nagants!

There a couple of gun shows around here at the end of the month. I'm turning in my scrap iron and copper to pad my wallet. Maybe Ill get lucky! You'd thing the higher prices would free up some secret stashes. The guys Ive talked to around here dont seem to know the value of the Mosins have went up t...

Re: home..... home on the range............

Nice range! Went out the other day with some friends. One of which had sold me his M91/30 to raise $ for a new ar15. He's got that new gun all pimped out with a scope, flashlight, red dot, etc. He was all over the place with that thing- I'm sure he its a fine rig, he just doesn't have it set right. ...

Re: M91/49 & M19/38

Got them looked over and cleaned up. Both seem nice on the insides. Of course just like everything else in life there are a couple of issues. The outside of the M38 metal has a few very small pits here and there and feels rougher and has more of a matt or flat finish than the M91/59. Its like the it...

Re: SNOW!!!!

I'm in South West Michigan. We usually get a lot of "lake effect" snow from Lake Michigan- this year not so much yet.. We have a wood stove to heat with and cook on if necessary and a few supplies stashed away. It's amazing how many people would probably not survive a few days without elec...

Re: M91/49 & M19/38

Yeah its sometimes a tough call. One thing for sure, I'd get over spending a little too much way before I would have gotten over missing out entirely. You snooze, you loose! I don't know what the thing was with only 1 gun out at a time.- the man is pretty much no-non sense. I'm sure he deals with al...

Re: M91/49 & M19/38

OK, M38 and 91/59. Thanks for the proper model ID. I was really torn trying to pick one. they only allow 1 off the rack at a time and I diddnt see a whole lot of difference between them other than the color. Now at home and side by side the differences stand out. I was sceptical about not knowing fo...

M91/49 & M19/38

I had some extra cash and was out looking for a M44 when I came across these two not m44s at the local pawn shop. I wasn't really sure what they were. They are labeled "M9149" for $200 and "M1938" for $250. I could not find any for sale on the auction sites to place a value on th...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

Hello, new owner of a 1943 Izhevsk M91/30 and all the things that came with it. I've been reading up on it and came across this forum. It's been interesting trying to figure out all the marks and stamps on it.
