Re: historian in search of a specific book

Did a few searches here on his profile and came up with this name - Yun Dan Feng Qing. Not sure if they are the same person as yiping but y...

Re: Swiss 1911 carbine

Congrats, I picked up one of these 6/7 yrs ago from Simpsons. They had a boat load of em back then, I picked one with some really nice depot repairs to the stock. Mine had the lighter colored stock. Hope it's not to hard to find the replacement bolt knob piece.

Re: Best birthday present ever

Congrats SA (Steve) on your Anniversary and Happy Birthday. I also got married at 19 in 1974, E2 in the US Navy for about a year at the time. E2 pay was pretty sketch at that time, don't know how we made it. Still married to this day.

Re: Question re. my 1895 Tula

Yep, 91/38. If that's your carbine, congrats on a nice score. Their quite uncommon and a bit more expensive than most Mosin carbines. I believe most started life as a M91 and converted to M44 then bayonet and lug removed and are being called M91/38. Up toward the business end there should be a littl...

Re: Non import 1934 Izhevsk 91/30

Nice one, I like the look of the patina. Appears the shank was scrubbed, but can't really see the scrub marks on the receiver. Probably imported pre 1968 ?? Uncommon find these days, it's a keeper.
