Re: Your Favorite M39 Ammo?

Re: Kimel AP 9mm
Yup, pretty much what I thought too, is kinda fun to take to range and have people go "what the heck is that, it that a sub-machine gun?" Nothing but a plinker to me and so have fun with it, looks alone make it worth while to take out.

Kimel AP 9mm
Picked up a Kimel AP 9mm from a friend who said he got it from a friend in Chicago a long time ago, it looks new and he said he only shot it about 3 times as it scared him. I have read up a little on it and am aware of its weak points. I took it out to shoot after a good cleaning and was surprised a...

Its probably my 1927 laminated hex 91/30 but the 1944 Tula ex-sniper is a close 2nd, keep the 1944 Russian M44 for unsuspecting new shooters who my daughter has come out with us to play, Flame thrower!

Also get some heating pads, ice bags, ibuprofen for the (pains) joys of shooting a Mosin, once you start, you can't stop! And have fun learning about a piece of History too.

Re: Nagant VS Zombie
Who gets the job of trotting all the way over there to change the target? That's the trouble when shooting up at my friends 275 yard range. We shoot from a small hilltop, then take the car over to change targets. Spotting scope is a necessity. Chopper? No, not with me on it, if the Lord wanted me t...

Re: 1944 Tula PU ex-sniper?
Thats what I thought too, its just on the barrel end where it meets the wood of the hand guard and stock. Also found that the plum color might be due to some kind of contamination's in a re-bluing process but that does not explain why the color is also present at the covered over screw holes for the...

Re: 1944 Tula PU ex-sniper?
A few more pictures, I can see that the color extends onto the barrel itself and that the barrel has been painted black too, will try to take some more pictures in daylight to get better contrast and color, what do I have?

Re: 1944 Tula PU ex-sniper?
Ok now I am interested in what I have here, what with the "plum" colored barrel as that is exactly the color it is, been trying to get a good color description for this and thats it, any further ways or leads to investigate this? Thanks.
