Re: M 98 Mauser PW Arms.
I do. It's a Yugo crest redone k98k. All of the German marks are gone except for mod 98 on the receiver and it has the PREDUZECE 44 on the side. Just went to Gander Mountain today, and walked out with one of those. My wallet was also made lighter. So far I've found three Waffenamts they missed. One...

Pat Burns Holiday sale
I'm sure many of you have known about Pat Burns' M39s for quite some time. I was just wondering, are these holiday sales recurring or is this new? I can't help but be curious about the numbers of rifles she keeps cranking out. Hell, she could probably arm a small army! She not only has the gunsand a...

Re: M 98 Mauser PW Arms.
I'm going back tomorrow to take a detailed look. I do remember that the hand guard stopped at the rear sight. The rear of the barrel was exposed like a MN is. It looked like this kp8.jpg only with a steel cupped butt plate, and what I think was a laminated stock (it definitely wasn't a fine wood lik...

Re: M 98 Mauser PW Arms.
Did a little more delving and found this on the Gander Mtn used rifle page "The post-War Model 48 is a Yugoslavian variation of the German K98K, built on the trusted Mauser 98 action. After World War II, the Yugoslavians received a large number of German K98k rifles and a huge stockpile of K98k...

Re: M 98 Mauser PW Arms.
I hate to dredge up old threads, but I've seen the same thing just this week. I'm rusty on the topic of Mauser rifles, but our Gander Mountain has a fair lot of "M98" Mausers, so marked on the forward receiver ring. It also bore a crest, though I couldn't make it out clearly due to poor ey...

Re: C&R
Did anyone mention a C&R provides the incentive to stay up all night and "shop", go to bed late, then go to work and suck down LOTS of coffee to get your work done, so you can make money and go home and stay up late at night and "shop"?

M38 Sniper?
I'm not really up on the subject.........am just familiar with the 91/30 version. I was "shopping" on Gun Broker and ran across this........http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=**********. Is this for real, or did someone just ad a sniper scope to this particular rifle? I've...

Re: My "brood" or, "Lucky I'm not married!"
I'm cleaning the last of the trio. The '44 VKT was/is really greased up underneath. I found a Tula star and what looks like "35" underneath. Both the barrel and receiver have matching series of numbers on the bottom side. From what I've read, these seem to be "tracking numbers". ...

Re: MN Rapid fire suitablity
At the risk of sounding blasphemus, wouldn't substituting a turned down bolt handle improve things, especially if it was angled back 20 or so degrees? Also, when I mentioned the stock pull, it was to bring up the point that trying to reach forward with the firing hand and manipulate a handle that st...

MN Rapid fire suitablity
Something to think about after dinner{: What is your impression of the rapid fire capabiliies of the MOSE. Quite frankly, I find it nearly impossible to cycle the bolt with the weapon shouldered. The straight bolt handle gives me almost no leverage in the shouldered position. The stock pull also see...

Re: Nagant revolver.......OK I screwed up
F2F off Armslist. I guess she had that and a P-38 for sale. When I emailed her last night, she said she had a buyer and a deposit already........just told her to keep me in mind in case something happened. Well, i tdid. The buyer couldn't come up with the cash for both, so he opted for the automatic...

I might check them out. I want to thank Dolk, whoever, and wherever you are, for the great lead. If all goes well Saturday, I should have Nagant, 7.62 x38R Nagant revolver 1927 . Comes with 342 rounds and with original holster plus cleaning rod and ammo box.Gun is in very good condition. $225! That ...

Re: My "brood" or, "Lucky I'm not married!"
I've been doing some research on the '41 VKT and ran across a web site "Manowars Hungarian Weapons" and sent him an email with the pic of the receiver marking. Here is his reply - A "most likely" scenario, as you seem to figured it out anyway: Probably an M91, mfg in Tula 1908, i...

Re: My "brood" or, "Lucky I'm not married!"
Cleaned number 2 - 1942 Sako. I'm not sure of the receiver. I finally figured out that it is a 1921 (under the tang). There are three marks on the top of the tang (might be hard to see, they aren't very deep). there is what appears to be a triangle, oriented to the left, with a horizontal line (numb...

For all you guys that have wives giving you grief over collecting MNs, just tell them you're stocking up on Finnish "AIR FRESHENERS".desdem12 wrote:Pine tar beeswax and something else. There have been many a pine needle left in the rifles too.
