Re: Need Knowledge
This is what is on the rifle in question..........a 91/30 stock used on an emergency repaired M27 100_3580.JPG You have a valid point. But I suppose there is the argument that could be made that these cartouches were stamped on the original rifle, or possibly on the original Finn rebuild. Then.........

Re: Special M27
I'm going to check it out this weekend. Obviously I want to be fairly sure as its a three hour drive one way. I've been cleaning up the photos I have, adjusting the exposure and contrast (my other avocation is landscape photography......$$$$$ also...) and the one shot of the stock nose cap is partic...

Re: Need Knowledge
I see your point. Could it be some sort of "fan club" symbol?? Seriously.....kids of every generation draw/doodle symbols representing the entertainers they are into. Young Gi's draw SS lightning bolts on their equipment, or skulls and cross bones, etc. Your observation could be a reinforc...

Re: Special M27
I agree with zeebill. The stock is a red flag to me. Could be a rare variation but more likely to me, an incorrect replacement. The import mark check he mentioned would be a must before purchasing. I've been communicating with the owner.......the whole mark is exposed as it sits. Yes, there are bar...

Re: Special M27
Its one of those "oddball" I like. Probable Remington receiver, the scarcity (from what I understand) of a fullstocked 27, the mysterious "bullseye" stamp on the buttstock, an F marked barrel.......and who knows what I'll find when I get to put my hands on it. It strikes me as an...

Re: Special M27
Pics are from a pocket camera I'd say. They do show the bolt and barrel match, no sign of anything changed. No popsicle sticks. He says the bore is bright and not counter bored.

Special M27
Just looking for a ballpark estimate of the value of this item. I just need an idea. 1931 marked Tika barrelled M27, built on what I believe is a Remington receiver, laying in a full lengtth stock.

Re: Need Knowledge
Unknown mark at this time. Shows up on several types of Finn rifles-all in the same spot. Some speculate a type of accuracy mark. I'm not really on board with that yet. My P-series Dragoon has it. These things are intriguing.......some shmo came up with the mark to designate something......a proces...

Need Knowledge
Has anyone ever seen a cartouche on a butt stock, shaped like a bullseye or "double" donut? It isn't an acceptance mark. There are no letters, numbers, or other symbols anywhere near it. Its about the size of a dime. I'm looking at another Finn MN (I haven't bought it yet.......I'm on the ...

Re: WTB Mosin Nagant headspace gauge(s)
Received my gauges today. Just finished checking the tribe. As it turns out, I had much more trouble opening those tiny ziplock bags than actually using the gauges! Luckily, my bad hand (left/natural dominant) served well enough for support, and my right hand (shooting dominant/unaffected) could do ...

FN M1922 Holster
Can anyone tell me what holster (by type or nomenclature) to look for that would be authentic to a FN M1922 7.65mm? I'm looking for the typical European leather flap style. I'm not getting adequate results with the search criteria I''m using. Fn, FN, Browning, M1922, brings up a lot of stuff....uesu...

Re: No more guns this year........but.......
My philosophy has evolved here in the last year or two. I've finally gotten enough ambition to ransack all my storage spaces and consolidate my "shooting stuff" to see what I needed to shoot my CMP M1 (purchased in 1991 for $95 I think....when you were only allowed one...ever!). I haven't ...

Re: WTB Mosin Nagant headspace gauge(s)
I decided to "venture forth" and get the Okie No Go/field gauge set........I can make it work. I need to, as I think I finally found a place to shot hp rifle....only 90 yards, but better than nothing! I now have six MNs I would like to shoot, though I probably won't shoot the 91 capture mo...

Re: Last firearm purchase of 2013.......probably
I like snipers, but I probably wouldn't get one unless I could find a real Finnish conversion based on a 27,28, or 39.............first - I'm not likely to find one.......second - I probably wouldn't be able to afford it if I did ![Big Shock :big shock:](./images/smilies/shocked2.gif)
