I bought it from a local store, I just so happened to find it, not really knowing what I had. It was pure luck.

Hahaha, that's awesome! When I cleaned mine, my kitchen, basement and clothes smelt like Cosmo for a while. Smell is gone now, guess that means it's time to search for another 91/30! I'm happily divorced and can get away with it!

That would make one or ten beautiful scabbards!

Nice find on a rare Tula. Like some others have said, you will have a hard time topping this one. I am sorry to have to be the one to tell you but you are now doomed not to find another rare Mosin for 10 years. All that I have seen have Izhevsk receivers like yours. Some dated some not. I have yet to see a 41 Tula receiver on one. wonder why? Tula had switched to SVT production. Looks kinda like a Izhevsk receiver, around 41 the Tula plant closed for a while (Germans too close) lots of rifle parts were sent over to Izhevsk hence the Izhevsk receiver. Hi all, I recently purchased my first 91/30, it turned out to be a 1941 Tula, I've been on here doing research on the rifle and all it's markings. I'll post pictures shortly.
