Re: Bolt hard to operate

Check for cosmoline just outside the chamber. That's what got me with a lot of my rescues. Harder than hell to open and close. I had to clean the snot out of it.

Re: The mysterious baitcaster

All of my spinning reels are Shimano, except for one Quantum. I wouldn't trade any of them for the world! When it comes to closed face reels, the venerable Zebco One. With the right line you could pull damn near anything up

Re: The mysterious baitcaster

I have to find it, but I have a bait cast reel made by the Zero Bomb Company, ie Zebco. Last time I used it, it was smoother than any of the modern reels I've used, except for one of my spinning reels.

Re: Computer repair with a M39

I wonder how many 3.5" hard drives one could shoot through, if they were stacked together, 1 right after another? I recall someone doing that with VHS tapes and an AR-15 (I think) and it was pretty sweet. However, as a long time IT professional, I recall the day I snapped on my cell phone and a...

This place is amazing. Similar to the post directly above mine. Plus it also allows you to set a "good deal" price, which will show up in red if met.

Re: I officially have a problem

You bought some rifles, that's not a problem. Being found dancing down main street wearing a dress, green jello in your hair, while singing I'm a little tea pot short and stout, then you have a problem :) Learn from my fail... At Halloween you could get away with that. Any other day of the year, qu...

Racer, While I know it's a tough pill to swallow for you it's their loss. Plus, if they choose to argue the law I'd question the legitimacy of their FFL. So maybe this is a blessing in disguise for you. Besides, at some point in time in the very near future, a nicer rifle will be available at a bett...

Yeah, I got no problems jumping out of planes... Big snakes and spiders on the other hand... nah... If they're too big to stomp then f-it... I'm gone.

Well your friend is far braver than me. Something that big, I think I'd give it the right of way by about 50 or 60 miles... The thing that scares me about constrictors is that they're ungodly strong.

Re: Never going to Florida, ever!!

Back when I was a kid I wanted to be a Herpetologist (study of snakes & reptiles)... Been around all kinds of vipers and a couple different species of constrictors. I can't really tell if that's an anaconda or not, if it isn't it's a damn big python or boa, but my first thought was "Oh hell...

Re: Mosin kaboom

Didn't I see some clown on Youtube a while back trying to blow up a Mosin with heavy loads? He did manage to weld a shell case into the chamber, but he was not able to blow it up, IIRC. Yeah, that was the video I was referring to, iraqvet88 or something like that, and his uncle Sy. I mean they beat...

Re: Mosin kaboom

How many people own and shoot Mosin Nagant rifles? How many have a catastrophic failure? You'll be hit by a bus crossing the street first. Honestly I didn't mean to scare anybody. The question was hypothetically, what's the worst care that could happen. Not what would happen. The way I was always t...
