Re: Naked and afraid...T53

No the pitting must have been from urine; they pee'd on them to cool the barrels in the summer right? I'm kidding of course, but I honestly can't tell if you guys are. I ways thought blood pitting was a myth. And I'll just chalk up the cause of those "tooth marks" to a blind beaver.

Re: My new Mosin!

I use Sellier & Bellot 180gr softpoints for hunting. It worked for me. The proof is in the pudding: http://www.russian-mosin-nagant-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=23007 My most satisfactory kill. By the way, I have one of those cheap scout scopes and a mount that adapts to the rear sight bas...

Re: Naked and afraid...T53

A Claymore is full of BB's that are all thrown in one direction, it must have been feet or inches away when it exploded. It would have had no stock left and the bayonet would have looked like a piccolo. The soldier became two half soldiers. Talk about Shit hittin the fan..........Mucho FUBAR......S...

Damaged Round Disposal?

Statistically, when buying hundreds of surplus rounds in bulk, you're bound to find some that come damaged: dented casing, bent casing, canted bullet, deepset bullet, and even a belt link rusted to the casing. I have accumulated several of these examples and set them aside. My question is, how shoul...

The pitting I figure was from rust, but I don't know what would have made that nasty row of dings on the side of the barrel.

Re: Naked and afraid...T53

Yeah I figured that's what they did. With the price of individual parts they can make more money that way. I figured I'd save this thing from someone who may permanently molest it.

Naked and afraid...T53

...well naked at least. I just bought this T53 barreled receiver off GB and it had been completely stripped down. I don't own any other T53s so I don't know anything about it except it was made in 1956. The bore looks nice and the replacement bolt I got checks out with the Okie gauges. This is the f...

Re: Nagant Revolver?

So much negativity... Look on the bright side, you're making your finger stronger with each trigger pull. The Russians wanted things that worked, not things that are comfortable. I love my Nagant revolver because it's interesting, historic, and fun. It's a non-refurb so it cost me a bit more. Also n...

Re: Anyone Own A Marlin Model 60SB

I have a model 60 special edition that my uncle found in a river while scuba diving years ago. I refinished the surface rotted stock, stripped rust from the pitted barrel, cleaned out the receiver, replaced the rusted and broken magazine tube and the lost rear sight slide. Still looks ugly because t...

Re: Import ban! Time to stock up!

The Obama administration and BATFE talk about banning this that and the other, but doesn't congress have to pass a bill to actually make it happen? I recently saw an article saying the BATFE intends to ban the sale of M855 5.56 ammo because civilians shouldn't have steel core "armor piercing&qu...

Re: Antique status firearms

My Turk Mauser was sold as antique out of a cabelas catalog. It's dated 1936. Shipped right to the door no problem. It was a Christmas present from my dad when I was a teenager.
