Re: Another 39 Tula Finn capture

Another one with cool features. Can't blame you for not passing on it! Nice that it has a Finn matched bolt. Most of these seem to be pure mix masters. Stock looks good too!

Re: Romanian 91/30 showcase submission

Nice Dave! That has a cool factor over many M91/30's regardless of condition.

Re: PEM sniper

The base was probably a repro... which means it was probably put back together. Question is was it an ex-PEM that was re-snipered or one of the Finn Capture scopeless rifles that were imported. Depending on which, and if the parts are originals or not, a fair price could be $2,400 - 2,700 in my opin...

Looks like a nice example of a PU. I might pay $800 for it. :-)

But double!!??

The finger rest is in the rear only. My guess is also that the OP is looking at a typical repair.

Re: Is that acceptable as restoration?

Excited to see some pictures when you can get up and running. I love these kinds of projects... see the beauty under the rough. I hope they sold it to you for cheap! Is there an SA in a box stamp anywhere on the barrel shank?

Re: 1952 Polish M44---Worth it or not?

I had an M91 with the stuck cleaning rod, but in this case it was stuck in a bore slug. Or rather they got the bore slug stuck, took out the wood and tried the cleaning rod. Got that stuck and gave up. It took some time and massaging but I was able to get it clear. Zero damage to anything except the...

Re: Remington M91 Japanese Trainer

I've decided to pass this on to someone that will appreciate the specific history more than I do. I also don't have a thing for M91's so that doesn't help! I know there were a few people interested that sent me messages when I bought it. It's now listed on a popular auction site.

Wow, very nice. Looks like those unissued Polish M44's.

That would fit nicely next to my M52 sniper if you ever decide to sell it. ;-)

That's a neat one. The machining marks indicate that it's never been scrubbed.

Re: Helping in identifying

Post more photos of the rifle. It may help us help you better. Izhevsk drilled the pins all the way through. Tula did not. The spacing seems off, but let me post a photo for comparison. The rifle in my pic is a 43 Izhevsk PU. ...scratch that. I can't post photos from my phone right now. I will updat...

Re: Newly Aquired 91/30

Based on the color variations of the wood and the shininess, I'd lean towards refinished as well. Hard to really say without seeing in person though. Otherwise nice rifle! Congrats.

Re: Remington M91 Japanese Trainer

First question I have is about the firing pin is it clipped off? I think I have seen similar stampings on the stock to the one you have but have not idea where. I have been looking at so much Chinese stuff in Kevin's collection I tend to go there but if somebody has done a good job of translation u...

Remington M91 Japanese Trainer

Hey guys, A friend of mine has owned this rifle for a few years and finally decided he wanted to move it along. He knew what it was and we agreed upon what each of us thought was a fair price, seeing how these don't come up too often, there isn't really a benchmark. I'm curious to see what the group...

So you bought my twin. I handled that one earlier this week. ;) I picked the 52 instead. I was at the show first thing in the am. Most of the M91/30's he had for sale are ones I sold/traded him. :)

1952 Polish M44

Found a Polish M44 when I wasn't looking early this week. I've always wanted a "mint" condition or "unissued", "new" Polish M44. Of course I procrastinated and next thing you know they're going for $600+. I paid much less than the going rate for this one. This will be t...
