Complete VZ 24 sniper value

Does anyone care to hazard a guess as to the value of a VZ 24 sniper with a set of m/m bases, and a correct IOR scope? Can't say I have ever seen one for sale, but one wonders. :vconfused:

Mauser receiver value

I have a 98 Mauser receiver that I picked up somewhere long ago in case I wanted to build a rifle of some type....never happened. Going to Tulsa next weekend and wonder what a reasonable price for it would be? Any opinions?

Re: Knurled and scalloped cocking knob?

Kinda odd. I have guys saying from 20's or 30's, to wartime simplifications at Izh in '41 and Tula in '42?????? Checking some other sites to see if the opinions there differ.

Knurled and scalloped cocking knob?

Got the info somewhere, but can't find it to save my soul, either here on on-line. The cocking knobs of Russian/Soviet Mosin bolts were scalloped on the bottom for some time in addition to the normal knurling. When did this practice stop? I want to say in the 30's, but just a WAG.

Re: K31 Rear Sight Leaf

Ditto. I have one with a scout scope mount and the guy couldn't find the rear sight. No idea about these folks, but they say they have them. Lock, Stock, and Smoking Barrel. In NZ no provision for int'l. shipping, but it might be worth investigating.

Re: Romanian M1891 ?'s

The formula for selling something when you are unsure of the top market value, price it according to the most expensive one you found that sold, plus fifty bucks. Then if it fails to sell at that high price put a best offer option on it and wait a month. If that fails keep the BO but drop the price...

Re: Romanian M1891 ?'s

$450-$500? [emoji38] Oh wait, you were serious? Not from me you wouldn't, $150 and hamburger and coffee on me maybe, but then I am cheap when it comes to paying hundreds of dollars for rifles I once bought for tens of dollars. Shit I hope you get that $500, I am going to be pulling for that...

Romanian M1891 ?'s

Well, as I wrote earlier in a post most probably missed, I am clearing out the last few in the non-Finnish Mosin collection. I have two M91's in the group. This particular enquiry concerns the one with the so called Romanian splice. It is a mix-master, as most of these Eastern European guns are, and...

Re: M91/38 Review...........Post Your M91/38's here!!!!

Hello all! Glad I found this. I recently purchased my mosin and had a few questions. I’ve narrowed it down that it was manufactured in 1942 (Ishevsk), all serial numbers matching however it has a few markings im a little unsure of. I’ve attached a few photos, one will not upload, between the Soviet...

Thanks men, that is a good number of similar opinions and I appreciate them. I also had a member reach out via PM and provide me with a pretty detailed report on them, and he actually ended up buying one! So all's well that ends well.

Re: Help me out here guys please

Hey it's ok guys. I'm a little jaded I guess as over the years, especially at Gunboards where I have over a thousand posts, folks are not very cooperative and have seen many downright condescending posts following a request for price info. I don't even ask over there anymore. I am a relatively advan...

Re: Help me out here guys please

Most of y'all are killin me! :vconfused: The thing I like least about forums is the almost total lack of info on value which is offered when asked about pricing. I'm not a newbie, have thousands of posts around the internet, and yet guys refuse to offer opinions. I understand no one wished to stick ...

Help me out here guys please

Been a while, but I am finally moving the last of my Russia/Soviet collection out. Taking the last 25, or so, to Tulsa next month. Here is the problem, a couple are just impossible to find current info on. I have searched high and low, but just can't find enough info to put a outright sale price on ...
