YOu can see where the original numbers were wiped on the left barrel shank. Not every refurb had new scope numbers restamped depending upon where it was refurbed. SOmetimes they were scrubbed and re-struck, scrubbed and not restamped, or lined or peened out, or lined or peened out with the new numbe...

Thats the whole problem with the AR platform and why I do not trust it as a battle rifle. To darn touchy. I have put some kalashnikovs thru hell and back and they keep going bang bang bang.................. get a piston upgrade and mae it a ultimate AR ;)

There are examples of them on display in arms museums in Russia. They were evidently made in short order ( no pun intended) and issued by the kgb. Hope this helps ;)

Nice type 53 Sir ;) have owned a assortment of communist made arms but only one that was chinese manufactured. That was a RP- 46. Built like a swiss watch. Really suprised me :) Congrats

Until a rifle has been used to hunt men its not a sniper rifle............. its a long range rifle perhaps but not a sniper ;) These old PU snipers are sniper rifles. Real good idea Dolk ;) Has given me a few ideas for my own. I keep all of my guns in the safe except for my carry gun and I have four on the bench right now ;)
