Re: GM/ Inland Blue Sky carbine
The push button safety is the early safety. Later production M1 carbines had a lever type safety. They went from good to worse . I wonder why :vconfused: . The push button has always been my favorite safety. In the heat of battle, when the adrenaline is flowing, some GI's were hitting the magazine ...

Re: Bought an M1 Carbine........... Woohoo
Very nice. I have a 1943 Inland that has the late model peep sight, updated safety, round bolt, but no bayonet lug. Back when I was getting hefty profit sharing bonuses at work I bought an Auto Ordnance reproduction of a first generation Carbine. L shaped flip rear sight, flat bolt, push button safe...

I do not leave any of my rifles in cases.
It is best to leave them exposed to air.
I've been doing that for 62 years with no ill effects.

Re: What do my mosin friends do for a profession???
After one 3 year enlistment in the Army, I got out. A tour in Vietnam convinced me that was not an ideal career for me. i went to work as a laborer in a lumber yard and spent the next 45 years in building products wholesale distribution. At the end, I retired as a warehouse manager, in 2016. I still...

Re: WASR 10
I bought my WASR 10 in 2008 just prior to the election, never had any problems with it. Everything is straight - gas system, sights. Magazines fit just fine. I've put a few hundred rounds through it in the last 10 years, right now she's in my closet, one 30 round mag inserted and 7 more loaded mags ...

Re: For Rodina! Forward! Urrrrrah!
I recently read Lady Death, the memoirs of Lyudmila Pavlichenko. She used a a 91/30, and was later presented with SVT-40 by the commanding general of her division . Although only in action for about one year before being wounded, and posted to be an instructor of snipers, she is credited with 309 co...

In 1999 I was given a Norinco as a gift.
Since it was free, I have lost nothing. I still have it and still shoot it.

Re: M1 Garand people come in have a gripe...
I ran into one of "those guys" at the range one time. His M1 looked brand new, and his contempt for my rifle was very clear. Mine is a Korean return, a total mix of parts (1945 SA receiver, Winchester bolt, LMR barrel dated 12-53, NM gas cylinder and op rod). It looks like it was drug behi...

Re: Remington 03A3 question
Looks nice. Price was good.
I'm a shooter, not a collector. My 1903A3 is a Remington, 1943. It has the bolt serial number electro penciled on which I have been told indicates it's a Greek send back.
It most likely has not much collector value, but that's OK with me. She's mine!

Re: Tactical vs. "Classic"
Maybe it's a function of my age (65) but of all the handguns, shotguns and rifles that I own only one has a synthetic stock. A New England Firearms Handi Rifle 22 Hornet single shot. My Ruger single actions do have aluminum grip frames, and my Walther P-1 has an alloy frame, but I own no Glocks or a...

Re: Would like advice on Remington 1903a3
I have a Remington 1903A3 that is in original configuration (but non numbers matching). It has the serial number in electropencil on the bolt which I've been told is a Greek send-back. It came through the CMP, I got it for $600.
Just thought I'd post that for comparison purposes.

Very nice. Your grandfather really loves you, to present you with a weapon he actually carried long ago and far away, during some tough times in his life. By treasuring that rifle, you are honoring his service. Do me a favor, please. The next time you see him, look him in the eye and tell him anothe...

Re: New England 12 gauge Pardner single shot
NEF Pardner 12 ga single, I love mine. I like it for several reasons, not the least of which is I can hold my full size Maglight in my off hand after dark, scanning the pasture and woodline for beady little preadator eyes, and if necessary hold the Maglight and forearm at the same time to illuminate...

Re: Stevens Model 238A Bolt-action 20 Ga.
This is my first time on here in a while, I kinda forgot about the forum. That's pretty shameful, I know. But I'm glad I did - I love old shotguns, especially bolt actions. Right now on layaway at my local gunshop (actually a retired neighbor who operates out of his barn)I have an H&R Game Gun M...
