Re: M44 bolt issues

Sounds like the OP is trying to say that the bolt body & bolt handle are not touching the right side of the receiver when it is in battery. If it is lifted slightly, it's not something to worry about, it happens on quite a few of mine. I believe it is just the loose tolerances of the notches on ...

Re: Shank stamping on M-39

QZ, I'm one of those guys who has been very vocal against the 2 stamp being interpreted as an accuracy mark. As my friend Bill stated, that's been the accepted explanation for years, but no one has ever produced any documentation to back it up, like they have with so many other Finnish stamps. I sta...

I picked up a bubba special, as I needed the stock. Probably paid too much but they don't grow on trees!!

Re: Hello new guy who purchased M27 today

Sounds like you picked it up for less than the market value, so you can always get your money back plus a few bucks if you ever get tired of it. That's the way to do it!!

I hope you get some pics up soon!!

Re: Unknow 1916 hex type.

It was on a table at the Big Reno Gun Show on August 14-17th. I saw it on Thursday the 14th and looked it over real close on Friday. I assumed you purchased it there at the show, I guess I shouldn't assume things ;) I think I'm one of the very few Mosin guys at this show, because I rarely ever see t...

Re: Unknow 1916 hex type.

I was at the show where this rifle was purchased and fondled it in person for quite a while before the show opened to the public. To me, it is a very interesting rifle, but I did not buy it because I came to the conclusion that only bubba would do this. It is a cool piece, and you don't see a 1916 P...

Re: Need bullet suggestion for reloading 7.62x54

I load mainly for .308 bores and very few .310+, so my experience may not help too much. I have tried everything from 100 to 200 and had some varied results, good and bad. I ended up settling on 155 grain bullets similar to a palma match bullet. I use these to shoot 2 matches per month, 1 at 200 yds...

Re: Swedish mauser 1894 carbine......are these rare?

It's a 94-14, as there is no 94-15 that I'm aware of. the "14" is when the bayonet mount was added. I think there were around 100k made, so they are pretty rare, compared to some other rifles we all collect :) Can you post up a pic of the receiver ring? Hopefully it is not restamped with &...

Re: Are LGS wise to the Mosins?

Wise? Heck no. They may THINK they are wise, but I rarely see anything that makes sense at a LGS when it comes to Mosin pricing. I've found uncommon Finns for $100 to $200 that were worth $400 to $500 and I've found 1943 refurb Izhevsk 91-30s for $399, so it just depends on where you go and how much...

Re: Guess what I found ?

I got one a few years ago... bid on an original dragoon and I could see the panshin hood on the bayo next to the rifle.

I found one last year with no hood for $20 at a show, that was a no-brainer :)

Very nice indeed! Serial puts it pretty late in 1941 too according to my info I have collected personally. Crack what crack? Looks just fine to me! Bill Dang Bill, you're too quick for me!! I was just going to say that is the latest 1941 I have in my records. 2183XX is the lowest 1942 I show, so ye...

Re: RELOAD 7.62 x 54r

if you're using boat tail bullets, you can easily seat a 311 bullet in a case necked for a 308 bullet. if you're using flat base bullets, you'll have a hard time ;)

Re: 28/76 price check

These were for sale at the distributers for quite a while. Started high and didn't sell to fast. I know that centerfire had several sales on them and it seems like that was around 500ish. Empire also had a bunch but not sure what Dennis sold them for. :D Dennis was higher than the others on price, ...
